This is normal for most cameras when you zoom in...

This is normal for most cameras when you zoom in or out.... it just means that the lens
is not a constant aperture lens with zoom.

hold the lens in hand, extend the lens and put your finger into the back end of the lens
and pull the back end...

What the HV30 does not have is the low light of the 2100... but in good light
