Ready to buy EX1 but waiting for FCS3

Like many others, I have been hovering around this forum for over a year waiting patiently for my wife to agree that we can make the step up to the EX1 :) Now I am ready (and she has agreed!), but I am still using Final Cut 5.1.4. I thought sure that Apple would have released Studio 3 by now and this wouldn't be an issue, but I just cant get myself to buy the camera and FCS 2 only to have FCS 3 come out at the WWDC in a month. I have a Canon A1 so I don't need the camera right now but I wanted to see what others thought about waiting on the camera just because of this issue?

Try this one:

https://www.rebate-zone.com/CurrentRebates.asp

Click on the 2009 NAB Show Rebate. Then click on "Next>>" and read the crappy unformatted text. You'll find the offer in there. (I didn't read it all)

Try this one...

Sony | Product Catalog - Sub-Category Landing Page

then in the upper right hand corner in the search box type in Rebate...

then click the EX3 entry and it should go to the rebate page....
and the rebate for the EX1 will be at the top of the list...

I got an email from Sony about that rebate a while back but it said that it was limited to professional camcorders and accessories and there were not all that many accessories there and nothing around $500. Not that I wouldn't want to get the rebate but I dont think it would spur me to buy before May 31. Am I not seeing something that I should? I mean I dont even think I can get extra batteries or a wide angle lens or anything that I might actually use.

Not necessarily, but I it seems that these cameras hold their value fairly well and the difference in price is not worth the risk/warranty factor?

Just an FYI I have a friend that's a shooter in Dallas and has a EX-1 he wants to sell. He has only used it about 3 times. Cameras in perfect shape. (Just didn't have the clients for it. Shoots more often with full size cameras)
He said someone was looking at it but not a for sure sale. If interested let me know I can get you guys in contact.
