Previewing Event Effects

I find I cannot see the changes I make in real time when adjusting effects after adding them to an event. I am sure I used to see the changes in the preview screen when making, say, brightness & contrast adjustments. What have I done or undone ?

First check to see in SPLIT SCREEN VIEW - up there on the PREVIEW Toolbar - if you have the FX Bypass engaged/disengaged.

"Wow" that was quick. Thanks Graham.
Yes, when I go to the little "Preview(Auto)" icon, it shows FX bypassed, but I can't see how to un-by-pass it.

Thanks again Graham.
I am used to Premiere so I was clicking on the little box in the sub menu where it showed FX by-passed. But now I see you have to click on the actual icon at the top, not the one in sub the menu, which curiously still shows FX by-passed but is now working.
I guess I am happy that I can see my FX but still somewhat confused.

Thanks.
