Settings for textured text overlay?

NLE: Vegas 6
Windows Vista

Hello, all.

I have a small problem with an effect that I was able to do, some time ago...

It's basically a textured text overlay. There are three tracks: the text itself, the desired texture for the text, and the video that I'm inteding to apply the text to. ...

For the life of me, I cannot remember the appropriate settings for each track. I am able to apply the texture to the text okay, but this results in blacking out the bottom video track. Again, this is something I've done before with success.

Is the text track supposed to be the parent? the background of the text supposed to be transparent or solid? alpha? mask generators? luminace?

Thanks.

Moved from Open DV Discussion to What Happens in Vegas.

Title changed from Simple Question to Settings for textured text overlay.

Please use descriptive titles instead of ambiguous ones. Thanks in advance,

My apologies, Chris. Thanks for the thread modifications.

Jim, you're a life saver. Much thanks for the help... It's very frustrating, having accomplished something in the past, only to be road-blocked by it in the future.

I've much to learn about the program. "It's one thing to have knowledge... It's another thing to have understanding."

Peace.
