Vegas 7.0e help with event fx

Hi guys,

I am extremely new to Vegas, and have yet to complete a project on it. I am currently in the "toying around with it" phase. My problem is this:

I import a media file,(currently a .avi file but any video type gives me the same problem). I then try to add event fx (B&W for instance), but for whatever reason, there is no difference after applying the effect. Transitions and media generators work fine, but the event fx don't. Any idea what I am doing worng, considering last night I was able to apply them without any problems at all?

Check the buttin on your video preview window that has a little circle in it. Clicking on this button turns on/off the FX you apply. This may do it.

That did the trick! I guess I should become more of a manual reader as opposed to a "tinker with it before reading" kind of guy.

Thanks Jon

No problem Jason... I'm a relatively new Vegas user myself only starting this past November/December and it sounds as though you are going through the same questions I was asking myself then. The manual isn't great, but if you keep plugging away, you'll be pleasantly rewarded.. :)
