HDV capture splitting m2t files
I'm capturing m2t from Z1 into Vegas 7e using Vegas' own capture utility. Scene detection is off. But I'm getting multiple files for each capture - no logic to them - some files are less than 1gb, others can be 6gb. This wouldn't be a huge problem except that when I put the split files on the timeline along side each other there's a jump where they join.
Any ideas? Thanx Ian |

Ian...Having recently made the jump to HD, i'm having the exact same problem. Vegas 8.0c is splitting captured M2Ts in random sizes, even though scene detection is off.
Did you find a solution ? |

When I last tried to capture HDV using Vegas, I got a series of 1 second "scenes" even with scene detection off, so it sounds like they've made some progress. Hehe.
Have you tried downloading HDVsplit and capturing with that? |

Is it possible that there's a dropout on the tape on the spot where the file is split?

same problem here (Vegas 8) ... seems to be a bug.... my solution was to use HDV split, but be careful, some captures gives me weird files (very "short") when trying to work on Vegas timeline...
Fortunately I have VideoRedo and just apply Quickfix stream getting an excelent and compatible file (without re-render)..... Now I'm moving to XDCAM EX files which works great as MXF into Vegas..... Kind Regards
