Capturing HDV 720p
Hi
I`m trying to capture an HDV material to edit for the first time with ConnectHD that came with my Vegas 7.0d. I`d like to know if there is a way to capture automatically converting to the Cineform intermediate file or I must capture the M2T files and afterwards render them to the Cineform intermediate for editing. If so (capture automatically converting to the Cineform intermediate), what is the workflow? Thank you Ron |

Ron, to convert on ingest you'd need to purchase ConnectHD (being renamed as NeoHDV) from Cineform. Which is a very nice workflow!
Using the Cineform codec included with Vegas you would need to render clips as you described, after ingest of the M2Ts. It's kind of an interesting situation right now, 7 does a nice job with M2T on the timeline if you have sufficient processor, Cineform is excellent for post processing of all kinds, but may require a RAID 0 array depending on your application. BTW, there is a Cineform forum here, and, cineform.com has extensive tech notes. |
