Old picture frame in VMS 7 Platinum.

I've got an old truck in the show. I'd like to add a 'picture frame' around the wide screen border for it's segment in the show, while playing some period music. Anyone know how to do the frame? Thx.

I don't know how closely vms mirrors Vegas but the quickest thing to do in vegas is to go to media generator tab, select noise texture and use the wood texture clip.

Just drag it on the time line either above or below the truck clip, tweak the settings if you want. Then go in to the pan/crop settings and mask out a box to server as the border. You'll have to change the mask settings in relation to the truck clip.

It's quick and easy, but it does look flat. You'll have better results building the frame in photoshop or something similar.

I hope at least some of that transfers to VMS. Sorry if it doesn't

If you add a cookie cutter with a slight border instead of a crop/mask, customize a bump map, and put a modified bevel around the outside, you can give the wood grain media generation a bit of depth. But still, PS would be better.

With a little more tweaking, it actually blends fairly well into an existing shot:

(But you can't do that in VMS.)
