Is the pre-render used by Vegas7 in the final render?

This question was asked on the PP2 forum by Douglas Turner but I would like to know if the answer is the same for Vegas7.

Does Vegas7 use the pre-render when outputting to the final render?

Specifically, I use the cineform avi in the Vegas timeline, will pre-rendering any portion of the timeline speed up the final render time in Vegas7?

Cheers,
Robert

PS. Answer for PP2 is apparently .. no!

the answer to your question lies in the final output format. If you're outputting to a master format using the CineForm codec, then the answer is yes. If you're outputting to a master format of .m2t to print to tape, or to MPEG 2 for DVD delivery, the answer is no. Either way, you're moving/transcoding, so pre-rendering to one format doesn't benefit master render to a different format, regardless of what application you're using.

So can you change what you pre-render to? Say working with cineform avis but knowing output will be to one of the DVD Architect templates?
