Is the pre-render used by Vegas7 in the final render?
This question was asked on the PP2 forum by Douglas Turner but I would like to know if the answer is the same for Vegas7.
Does Vegas7 use the pre-render when outputting to the final render? Specifically, I use the cineform avi in the Vegas timeline, will pre-rendering any portion of the timeline speed up the final render time in Vegas7? Cheers, Robert PS. Answer for PP2 is apparently .. no! |

the answer to your question lies in the final output format. If you're outputting to a master format using the CineForm codec, then the answer is yes. If you're outputting to a master format of .m2t to print to tape, or to MPEG 2 for DVD delivery, the answer is no. Either way, you're moving/transcoding, so pre-rendering to one format doesn't benefit master render to a different format, regardless of what application you're using.
