Audio Effects to single event
Is it possible in vegas 7 to apply an audio effect to just one single event (clip) and not the whole track ? As an example, if you have dialogue clips taken in very different acoustic environments it is desirable to apply different audio sweetening to each clip not just the whole audio track.

yes absolutely-right click on THAT audio event and you will breing up a menu that reads; NON-REAL TIME FX click that. Now the FXs will be placed in the one clip only.
You can however COPY>PASTE EVENT ATTRIBUTES of that clip to others Don |

You can have as many tracks as you want. I just put those events on a separate track.

Audio Effects to single event
Many thanks Don & Edward. - Knowing how clever these vegas people are, I thought there may be a way of doing it. I am a new recruit to Vegas from Premiere 6.5 which is extremely good. However, with Premiere's constant crashing & limited audio, I am trying to learn Vegas quickly ( "Oh", those fantastic audio enhancements ! ). I am trying to buy the new book -"Digital Video & Audio Production in Vegas 7 " but as I am in Sydney Australia, they will only post to a US address.
One feature I don't know about in Vegas is "Scripts". - What are they, - a quick editing technique ? Ron C |

Here is a tutorial on what scripts do/can do, and how to use them in Vegas. There are literally hundreds of time-saving scripts.
Using Scripting in Vegas Basically, scripts are somewhat like macros that can perform multiple tasks in one shot, ranging from exporting images as a sequence to multicam to crazy effects and lots more.

Several issues of my newsletters also discuss scripting, how to use scripts, and even how to write scripts. You may want to look there as well.
