When "snapping" events together fades dissapear

I'm sure this is an easy "switch" somewhere but just can't figure it out, somebody please help. So I have a text event... and I slide the fade in and out markers for that event to say 5 frames. Then I copy and paste it just a bit down the timeline, change the text and then slide it up, and it snaps to the first text event. However... when they "snap" together... the "fade" of 5 frames for both events dissapear and it turns to a strait cut. Although when I grab an event and slide it away... the fades re-appear. Where/What is the switch to keep this from happening?

This happens to me from time to time and I play around with the enable snapping and ripple buttons and sometimes it stops and sometimes it does not. I can't figure out what is causing this because it is very inconsistant in its behaviour but my guess is that it is a simple toggle on/off switch somewhere.....

The times I've seen this happen it's because there is actually a very slight overlap on the events (looks like a cut but really isn't if you really zoom in).

Oh... actually a glitch

I thought it was a setting somewhere... No, even If I zoom in to frame by frame... they aren't overlapping. strange... anyways... some do it, some don't, just have to deal with it I guess.

I experienced this too and never did come to a conclusion why it was happening. I haven't seen it happen in Vegas 7.
