No real idea but I'll throw a couple of things out there maybe related (and in fact didn't know that vegas 7 could render an MOV..I guess I usually do that outside vegas)..but..
- Assume you are on SP2..(I think you have to be for vegas 7) - Have you upgraded to latest quicktime from apple? I have a few other appls that also link to quicktime (wildform pro, etc.) and there were some changes in quicktime that affected, among other things, how the apps talk to quicktime (and I wouldn't have thought they needed to talk to quicktime when rendering, but they seem to). anyway, make sure you have the latest version of quicktime running. - check if the 7.0c release has anything to help. those would be my less than .02 ... sorry can't be more specific, but just some ideas.. |

Be sure you're running the latest version of QT, be sure you've got authoring components installed, not just the player. It's free, but you *must* install the authoring components.

I downloaded the latest version of Quicktime and still the same. Any idea where you get the authoring component? I've had a look around the Quicktime site/resources and don't see anything?

Alastair, I don't have my editing NLE platform connected to the INTERNET - period! So I do all this "other" work from an INTERNET machine that I can allow connected to the INTERNET.
On the occasions I've needed to MOV something it is done on that machine. Grazie (ps: HNY Allie!) Last edited by Douglas Spotted Eagle; January 12th, 2007 at 07:37 AM. Reason: merged |

When you download the full version of Quicktime, you have three options as to how you want to install it. You *must* install the authoring component.
We render to various QT formats quite regularly; I assure you this aspect of Vegas works wonderfully. FWIW, just last evening we rendered a dozen projects via the Batch Encoder, all to QT.
