Currently I only have 1 monitor. I am thinking an accurate HD preview monitor might be more important than having the 2nd monitor for extra editing workspace.

Which is better for HD color correction previewing via the video card, a LCD computer monitor or LCD HDTV ? Finished product will be viewed on an HDTV.
Whichever one is calibrated properly.

Thanks, Doug. 1 last question, the computer monitor I'm considering is a 24" 1920x1200 Dell and the LCD HDTV is 26" 1080i Toshiba. Does the extra resoluton of the computer monitor matter ? Both cost < $800.

Hi Spot. May I ask what is the best size for the 2nd monitor to edit m2t 1440x1080i? I have a 17inch now and I was thinking of upgrading to something bigger. The biggest I can afford now is a 20" unfortunately but a 19" is nice for the pocket
