Audio editing
Hi,
I recently created a project in stereo AC3 ensuring that the audio levels did not go into the red. I then decided to create a 5.1 version of the same project. I changed the audio properties from stereo to 5.1 and rendered the project to 5.1 AC3 using the default parameters. This was imported into DVDA2 again using the 5.1 settings. When the DVD was played on my TV surround system, the amplifier showed that the audio was indeed 5.1 but the sound was awful. The mix seemed completely unbalanced. I went back into Vegas 5 and checked the audio level meters. It showed at certain instances the levels went way into the red. I am therefore confused. I didn’t want to explore the full capabilities of 5.1 by diverting different sound effects to different channels. I just wanted a surround mix. I therefore changed nothing about the audio, assuming the stereo audio would just be split equally between the 5 channels. This is obviously not the case. What am I doing wrong ? |
