Another capture problem

Small projects Vegas captures fine. I noticed if I do bigger projects like over 50 scenes it would stop capturing...and the tape will still be rolling. Preview screen freezes with the last capture. The timecode still rolls. When I hit stop capture Vegas freezes and crashes. Though I am able to get the captures but then I would have to start over from where it didn't capture and re cature again. I have Vegas 7b went to 7c same problem. I tried turning off scene detection and worked very sweeeet. But I now have a huge chunk of file.

Would dare say that your problem isn't Vegas, but something hardware-related.
During the holidays, for giggles, I brought over 100 masters with me to capture on a couple drives. Not a single hiccup. Scene detection on, external 1394 drives as capture location, laptop computer. Over 10,000 scene files between all the tapes.
You coming to the Vegas gathering in Waikiki tomorrow night?

I'd be looking at things like vid card, 1394 card, sound card, cooling fans, etc to see if you've got resource sharing...
Yeah, we're getting together at Tiki's on Kalakaua tomorrow night around 7. It's sort of a traditional meeting place. It's either there, or at Dillingham where I'm spending the daylight hours.
