Graham,

I just had to clear all of the doohickeys off of the LCD on the camcorder (Panasonic PV-GS120). Although all of the other settings can stay on the LCD without showing up except for the time/date stamp. What’s weird is when you set a transition like a cross fade the time/date of the actual footage will show up as a series of hyphens (on the external monitor; even the same clip) during the length of the transition (I don’t have this problem anymore). I guess I’ve never really worried about the time/date stamp before because when I edited in Movie Studio, and more recently in Vegas 6, it never shows up in the editing previewer or when I burned the footage to a DVD. Maybe the GS120 doesn’t actually burn the time/date on to the actual footage?
