No way to save Preferences?

I need to reinstall Vegas Pro 17. Is there any way to save all my preferences, and replace them after the Vegas reinstall?

(Vegas 17 is suddenly crashing every 5 minutes, regardless of activity -- even when simply viewing clips in trim window. The crash freezes Windows, requiring a system restart. Vegas is the only program causing the system crash. I’ve had no automatic Windows updates since May.)

On the Vegas reinstall, I’d rather not recreate all my many preferences if I don’t have to!

Thanks for any help.

System:
Intel i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20 GHz
Windows 10
Memory: - 32 GB
Graphics Card: - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Vegas program and operating system are loaded on internal SSDs

I think Vegas 17 prefs, are stored in registry, probably in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software\Metrics\Application. Yes, still "Sony Creative Software". I doubt a reinstall is going to fix your issue - there are too many reasons for the crashes which have haunted Vegas forever. Instead of or as well as a reinstall, if you haven't already, you could make sure you have the latest version of 17, try a reset, update drivers, if that doesn't work, wind back driver, turn off either Intel o/b or GTX in case there's a conflict, disable compound So4, set dynamic RAM to 0. Google for how to. Or if you want to continue with Vegas, hope Vegas Pro 19 which is due any moment fixes the crashes.

What you need to do is download the following tool, "Presets Manager" to save the following:

Supported types of presets

All kinds of plug-ins and plug-in packages (Video FX, Audio FX, Transitions, Media Generators),
including OFX (OpenFX) plug-ins
Pan/Crop (including masks)
Track Motion (including 2D Glow, 2D Shadow, 3D Source Alpha and 2 to 1 Transforms)
Custom project templates
Custom render templates
ProType Titler (effects, gradients and collections)
Command marker presets
Toolbar buttons

Download from here:

https://vegasaur.com/vegas-presets-manager

Or failing that you can use the original Sony Prests Manager which you can download from here.
Both programs are pretty straightforward to run. It's a simple way to retrieve, save and re-apply all your presets from Vegas version to version or reapply them on a reinstall.

I dont understand setting the Dynamic Ram to 0 that a lot of people recommend I did the opposites when my system kept crashing I raised mine to 2/3 of my available Ram and the crashes disappeared.

The Dynamic RAM to zero was mainly for rendering issues.
