Vegas 10 to Vegas 13 - Windows 10: old 10 veg files won't open
Just installed Windows 10; then Vegas 13. Vegas 13 works fine.
But, when I click on an "old" Vegas 10 file to open it I get this message: "please wait while Windows configures Vegas Pro 13.0 (64-bit)"...then a second message: "Vegas Pro 13.0 (64-bit) must be installed from DVD or the download installer." Also, this third message pops up: "C:\2016 commencement.veg Fatal error during installation." If I open Vegas 13, then open the old Vegas 10 file it will open correctly. I'm just wondering why I can't click to open the old Vegas 10 file directly. Thoughts? Any way to fix this? It's no big deal...just an extra step to open the old files, but I'm wondering if something isn't set correctly. Thanks in advance. Last edited by Herm Stork; August 26th, 2016 at 03:02 PM. Re: Vegas 10 to Vegas 13 - Windows 10: old 10 veg files won't open
I used both 10 and 13 and that's the exact reason why I installed Win10 and uninstalled it 30 minutes later ..caused chaos with quite a few programs including the Mercalli Plug-In
There was a thread back in July about Win 10 upgrades and Vegas ..Have you read thru all the posts in that one? |

I did a search, but couldn't find this issue. BTW...I have Vegas 10 and Windows 10 on another computer and don't have this issue (or any other issues running Vegas). So, I'm assuming it's a V13 and W10 issue.

Problem solved
I uninstalled Vegas 13 and DVD Architect, then re-installed and all is well with the world of Windows 10.
