Help with render settings for specific file sizes
Hi all,
I've been tasked with getting 2h35m of full HD material onto an 8GB USB stick (it's a stage show - first act is 1h40m, second act is 55m. Could someone please help me with the render settings I would need in Vegas Pro 13 to produce two files whose sum size is less than 8GB? The objective is to give people with smart TVs the option to watch the video directly off a USB stick at the original resolution rather than at DVD quality. Thanks for any guidance. |

Re: Help with render settings for specific file sizes
8GB is approx 64 Giga bits
2:35:00 = 155 minutes = 9300 seconds 64Gb / 9300 = 6.8 Mbps bitrate This 6.8Mbps is shared between your video and audio. Subtract your audio bitrate from the total and what remains is your average video bitrate. The AVC and mpeg-2 encoders in Vegas let you enter an average bitrate for your video encode. AVC is your best bet I think. There is some file overhead so undershoot the exact number slightly and the video encoder might slightly overshoot your entered average value. |
