The Readme file only mentions addition of the XAVC-L render out template - how about reading (ingesting) such files onto VP13 timeline?!!

OK - just loaded a HD XAVC-L clip off the X70 without probs. Has anyone tried a 4k XAVC-L version?

Piotr

Piotr ~

Wish I was having the same luck as you, you tried this in 50p? Problems here so have contacted Sony with my findings. See my posting on the other thread.

Can you let us know exactly what settings you are using in camera and on the timeline in build 444.

Thanks in advance

Re: Vegas Pro 13 with XAVC-L codec support has arrived!

Hi Chris,

I do not have the X70 - downloaded one from Vimeo, and it indeed is just a 30p one. As to VP, it's the build 444 without any special settings that might be important in the aspect of it being or not able to read a video file...

Piotr

PS. The clip is XAVC-L for sure - bothe Mediainfo and Catalyst Browse confirm that.

Re: Vegas Pro 13 with XAVC-L codec support has arrived!

Thanks Piotr ~

Have got back to Sony SCS and uploaded clips from both the PXW-X200 and the X70 for them and they think they have detected something and reported back that they are looking into the issue. Asked me for the firmware version of the camera in question and exactly what settings were used and how the file import was attempted etc. Just wait and see I guess :(

Re: Vegas Pro 13 with XAVC-L codec support has arrived!

Good for you! However, this is still a very unmatured code that calls for optimization; while I can actually ingest any and all XAVC-L samples from different cameras that I downloaded from good people's links, I do not understand what is so "hard" in the FS7 codec. The clip I got is a 4k, but just 8bit, 4:2:0 one - and it literally throws Vegas Pro 13 Build 444 to its knees...

Strange, because clips from say AX100 are also 4K 8bit 4:2:0 Long GOP, and they play back with full fps at Best/Full. True they are using an "easy, consumer" XAVC-S codec - but with all the numbers the same, why should there be such a difference?!! The FS7 Long GOP clip with the same parameters hardly ever goes above 3-5 fps here - regardless of the Preview Monitor settings (even in Draft/Auto!)
