Closed captions question

I have a file that I imported to edit (and as far as I know, nothing has been done differently from my usual workflow) and whenever I open the project, there's a background process that starts up that says "reading closed captioning from Filename.m2t"

This never completes, and I certainly didn't embed any closed captioning in the file. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Closed captions question

It is certainly very annoying. Always I remove this feature:

In "Options" Shift+Preferences. In the new tab "Internal", at the botton write Caption. The Field Name show "Enable scanning for closed caption", in Value write FALSE, apply and OK.

Thanks! I knew there had to be a setting buried in there somewhere.
