White balance issue
I forgot at a recent two camera shoot to white balance my cameras...yeah yeah I know :-(.
Anyway I now have to correct the white balance in post. I have Vegas Pro v13. When I run the Sony White Balance plugin I can greatly improve the colour but a thin horizontal bar of uncorrected colour appears in the right middle of the frame. Has anyone come across this? An thoughts on how I get rid of it? Or is it intentional to indicate how far you've shifted the colour from the original? It seems to stay... I tried FB White Balance on trial, but my trial period has run out. However, if I run it, the frame goes black for all except this thin strip of original colour. If I try to do anything, FB tells me my trial has expired. It is the thin strip that bothers me. |

Re: White balance issue
Make sure you don't have the Split Screen View enabled. It's just above your preview window. I got caught by this a few years ago and it drove me crazy trying to figure it out.

Re: White balance issue
I was never happy with the results of the official Vegas WB plug-in so I bought FBmm White Balance plug-in. I use it on almost every project, does a much better job than the Vegas equivalent, worth looking at. AAV ColorLab which is free also does a better job with white balance than Vegas.

Re: White balance issue
Actually...I ended up not using a white balance plug in but rather the colour correctors. Got the clips looking the same... :-) FB does appear to do a better job of WB than the vegas one...

Re: White balance issue
I find a great little tool / plugin for white balance and minor color correction is AAV ColorLab. Bonus, it's free!
I find it better than the Vegas WB tool and the FBmn corrector which I also purchased. AAV ColorLab Chris Young CYV Productions Sydney |

Re: White balance issue
I tend to use NewBlue ColorFast for white balance plus a whole lot more.
