Vegas 11, Mix 720 50p (600d) and 1080i (Sony MC50)
Hi all.
I have shot a highlights only wedding this weekend, and planning ahead - ensured that i shot most of it at 720/50p on a canon 600d (a lot will be slowed down as the bride likes the slomo look), i have also used my MC50 locked off for parts of the ceremony, there is no way of switching this camera to anything other than the native 1080i..... Question is, if i want 90-95% of the project in slowmo, using the 720/50p footage, shoud i setup vegas PROJECT to match these settings, then just drop in the 50i footage when needed.....if i can zoom within the 1080i footage as well would be a bonus, as it was unmanned some of the shots are a little off centre and will need a zoom/crop. I dont have time for trial and error at present due to personal situations at home, so hopefully someone can give me a very brief how-to on this one - it really would be most appreciated :-) |

No problems, set deinterlace method in the project settings to Interpolate.

Match to the 50i footage as you need to deinterlace. This can mean you loose a bit of sharpness on the dslr footage.
Interpolate is normally best but if you plan to slow down the 50i footage blend can sometimes be best. You will really benefit from shooting with cameras which all have the same look or at least shoot in the same format.
