"Levels" plugin acting up
Hi all,
Didn't get much of an answer over at Creative Cow so I wanted to ask the folks here and see what happens. I most often use a combination of Levels and Color Curves when I want to make basic adjustments to over or under exposed clips. In a case of over exposition I would set the "Output End" to a 100 (I use the Waveform for calibration), and then adjust the mid-range with the Curves. This way the brightness ceiling, so to speak, is set to 100 and won't budge when I will play with the Curves. Take a look at the screenshot, I drop the same clip in Vegas 10 and 11, both have Levels that is set to the same values. The waveform on the left is 11 and the right it is 10. As you can see for version 10 the "ceiling" sticks to 100 even though I've cranked the Input End. Am I mistaking in believing that in V11 half of the Levels controls cancel the other or is what happens in V10 the aberration? Thanks |
