Capture problems from Sony A1
Does anyone use this camera ? (I think Sony's smallest Pro camera). I am having problems getting Vegas to recognise this camera and have tried different ways without success.
The footage is in HDV format so I have to use this camera as my other old one, - Panasonic GS-400, is DV only. I have also tried switching to down convert in the Sony so as the output will be DV, but this camera is just not recognised no matter what, it seems. I also checked the settings re vidcap etc. in Vegas. - I tried my old XP PC with Veg. 9 as well as my current one with Veg.11 & Win 7 but no luck. Both systems recognise the Panasonic GS-400 without any problem. So it seems there must be a problem with firewire and this camera. - Did all the usual things like turning off & on etc. as well. Any suggestions ? RonC. |

In a pinch you could capture in Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks guys. I think you're right Leslie. I had my suspicions and am taking it to Sony on Monday.
