new laptop i7-2670QM & NVidia GeForce GTX 670M
I just installed Vegas 11 build 683 64 bit onto new laptop.
Strange thing is when I drop MXF files from either Cannon XF105 or XF305 or Nanoflash, the files shows up as audio only files - no video. If I render on another computer and bring back to this computer everything is fine. Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks for your insights. I can't seem to figure this one out. James |

All the files play with the Sony XDCAM Viewer Player. The files do not need quick time. Thanks, James

You don't by any chance have a 'solo' button clicked do you? A similar thing happend to me last week and that's what it was...

No is it not the solo button. When the files are dropped on the timeline, you see the audio wave, but no video. It is like it is an audio file only.
Clearly a big problem for me right now. I'm at an event with the laptop and can not use this one to edit with. Luckily I brought an older laptop with Vegas 10 and the files show up with video totally fine... James |

You're missing the codec necessary for Vegas to read the video. The proper "Video for Windows" codec needs to be installed. The fact that other programs can display the video means "a" codec is installed but obviously not a "Video for Windows" codec.

Install the 32 bit version of Pro 11 and see if that helps.
