AMD Radeon HD 6970M
Please forgive the uneducated question. The AMD Radeo HD 6970M is the graphics card found in the newer iMacs. Does it qualify under the new Vegas 11 specs for GPU rendering, being that it is, technically, a mobile graphics solution, or does that matter?
I plan on running Vegas natively in Windows using Bootcamp on the new iMac. It is about the only Windows program I still use (Vegas) I hope this question makes some kind of sense...... |

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6970M
I guess what I am asking is there any difference between the 6970 and the 6970M. From what I can see on the Sony site, it should work......

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6970M
It makes perfect sense. And fact is there are a lot of folks with laptops with Radeon HD Mobile cards in them. I do know my new quadcore windows laptop has a Radeon HD 6000 mobile series card with 1 GB in it. So once I have things working to my satisfaction on my desktop, it's next. But I haven't gotten there yet.

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6970M
Sean I'm not seeing the gpu listed on my 17" 2011 MBP. What gpu driver are you using? I noticed mine was older but I cannot seem to update it because it has to use a special bootcamp driver and not the regular AMD drivers. Is there a way you were able to force a gpu update?

Re: AMD Radeon HD 6970M
Oh yes i found the way to overcome that on apple support forums. You cant use the auto detect. I installed 2 patches but i cant seem to find the page again. Try googling 6970M Win 7 driver
