A new 3D blocking workflow

This might be interesting for anyone who is interested in building story structures in 3D, using Sony Vegas Pro.

I´ve made a short video of my v0.10 JavaScript: "LW-link" to demonstrate a stronger 2-way datalink between Vegas Pro and LightWave.

Video is here:

Re: A new 3D blocking workflow

Excellent, Vincent. I'm not a Lightwave user (Cinema4D for almost ten years) but I can see why Lightwave/Vegas people will be happy to see this. Good luck with the development of the project.

Re: A new 3D blocking workflow

Hi Ian,

I don't know if Cinema4D can import LWS scene files or if "Cinema4D scene files" can be generated using ASCII. If so, you would be able to modify this script and use it with Cinema4D.

In that case you might want to wait for my next update v0.2 that will include a few interesting functions that will make LW-link even more functional.

Re: A new 3D blocking workflow

I might need to have a new brain installed first! I'm actually a fairly simple (and increasingly less frequent) user of 3d. Whenever I do feel the need for any 3d element I have to go back to the basic training to remind myself. That's how 'entry level' I am!

Having said that, you have made me think of one or two areas where I could usefully resurrect my elementary skills so you never know . . .

LW-link v0.28: The hottest 3D blocking workflow

LW-link is a free script for Vegas Pro 10 and it coöperates with LightWave 11, SynthEyes 2011 and Fusion 6.3, based on Event name (video/audio/photo/generatedmedia), sharing common data as much as possible to speedup your 3D blocking process.
