Veg 9 not recognising HDV Camera
I am trying to capture HDV into Veg 9 from my Sony A1-P camera and all I get is "Device Not Available". (Capture format to HDV but even setting to DV made no difference.)
I have tried different settings in Vegas from 8 bit to 32 bit, HDV 1080-50i template, upper field first etc to no avail & camera is set to HDV O/P. I have done all the usual re-connect/ disconnect/ on-off stuff but no difference. I checked in device manager (Win 7 64 bit), & 1394 all shows OK. Any suggestions. RonC |

Re: Veg 9 not recognising HDV Camera
1. try another cable
2. change firewire driver to 'legacy' in device manager

BINGO Leslie, Thanks very much. You're a genius !
Changed the driver to Legacy from the Texas Instruments one & it sprang to life. Why does Windows do this ?? Thanks again. RonC. |

Re: Veg 9 not recognising HDV Camera
Hi Ron
When I was still running tape I had countless issues with Vegas capture. Eventually I found a copy of the Panasonic edit software that used to ship with the GS Series cameras and it used to capture every MiniDV camera that I threw at it without any issues!! I never used Vegas again for capture so I wonder if it's actually a Vegas problem rather than a Windows issue??? Then again that was also on 32 bit XP Pro!! Glad you got everything working!! Chris |
