changing color of event buttons?

Is there a way to customize color of event buttons (event fx & pan/crop)?. I am working on a project where they just blend in with very colorful video events and I've hard time seeing them.

It would be best to turn off the display of the video thumbnails on the timeline - maybe just keep the thumbnail at the start of the clip.
Other than that, you can't change the icon colours.

Well, those icons are now more distinctive by being White and have an outline and turn Green when active. There was a time when the Fx Icons were a dingy slate grey/green. But they are now what you see and like the MS Win7 advert: That was my idea!
