My Vegas wont capture in 1920x1080?
Hi,
I'm trying to capture footage from my xha1s which is set to 1920x1080 recording. But i can only get sony vegas to capture it in 1440x1080. Would appreciate any help. Thanks |

i found other threads on this...I think i get it now. so basically HDV doesnt do square pixels. HDV 1440 mega pixels are taller so they end up being the same as 1920?

That's correct - Vegas is properly capturing HDV in its native resolution of 1440x1080, with non-square pixels, pixel aspect ratio of 1.3333.
This is also the rez and PAR that Vegas will give the best performance for your HDV content, meaning that (in most cases) this is what you should set in your project properties. And, yes, when PAR is correctly set, you'll be looking at an image that fills 1920x1080 PAR 1.0. A little confusing until you've done it a few times...
