When is the next version due out?
Anyone know when version 11 is due? I'm still running version 9, but I really don't want to upgrade to 10 if a new version is coming out soon.

Re: When is the next version due out?
Since they just announced and released a major update in 10d I would not be surprised if nothing is announced about Vegas 11 till the 2012 Nab show.....

Re: When is the next version due out?
I think Ron might be referring to the Pro version rather than Movie Studio. I also think David is right but , for obvious commercial reasons, Vegas would be unlikely to forewarn you of an up-coming release anywa.

Re: When is the next version due out?
Thanks, it's the Pro version I'm interested in. I guess I'll stick with version 9 for now. If I upgrade to 10, you can bet they'll come out with new version and I'll be stuck paying for it again. I've had a lot of problems with version 9, but I just bought a new Core i7 PC, so maybe I'll have better luck.

Re: When is the next version due out?
If Sony does it the way they've been doing it since the release of Pro 7, it will be in the fall of this year.
That's just speculation though as I don't have an inside track and those that do can't say anything. |

Re: When is the next version due out?
I am waiting for the DVD Architect update. Fix to the Top menu button for SD DVD's and pop-up menus for Bluray would be nice.

Re: When is the next version due out?
Vegas 10 was released October 2010 (just after IBC)
Vegas 9 was released April 2009 (NAB) Vegas 8 was released September 2007. (IBC) Vegas 7 was released September 2006. (IBC) Vegas 6 was released April 2005. (NAB) Vegas 5 was released April 2004. (NAB) (Sony purchased it in mid 2003) Vegas 4 was released April 2003 but had a public beta starting around January. Vegas 3 was somewhere around December 2001/January 2002 You can make your own conjecture from this...

Re: When is the next version due out?
Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like the next version should be out within a few months. I had an offer back in May to upgrade at a reduced price but decided to wait. The regular upgrade price is quite a bit higher than what they offered me. I'll stick with version 9 for now and upgrade when version 11 comes out.

Re: When is the next version due out?
According to it's history, (Edward's List) it should be out between October and March. I'm going to guess closer to March, about 8 or 9 months, cause they just had a big update.

Re: When is the next version due out?
Either way Sony Vegas updates are never exciting or a major overhaul it's pretty much the same software with better support under the hood, so don't get too excited.

Re: When is the next version due out?
And the last two releases V9 and V10 have made me feel like a beta tester.
