capturing hd or sd?
I video with to HDV cameras. Just wondering if its worth editing in HD if u are just gonna burn it to a normal DVD? I could capture it as SD but would that hurt my video quality?

Re: capturing hd or sd?
I would definitely edit in HD. See soon enough you will want to make HD files for the internet and your portfolio. Having the HD files, even if they are final exports, will save you much headache. It took me forever to get my SD files upconverted to an HD quality I could live with.

Re: capturing hd or sd?
The ability to zoom in on a shot is why I shoot in HD even though most of my work ends up on SD DVD.
I do a lot of interviews and now have the ability to instantly cut from a waist shot to a medium close up (or any other shot I want) instead of doing a slow zoom in as the person is talking. I now lock the camera off on a waist shot and "fix it in post" :) |
