Go Pro and Cineform
GoPro®, Leading Activity Image Capture Company, Acquires Award Winning Video Compression Software Company, CineForm®, Inc
Go-Pro Cameras has just bought Cineform! I thought it was a joke at first but seems legit. I was just placing an order for 2 GoPros and saw that in their news section. Will this mean we may see some sort of highly compressed Cineform codec in the near future? Might just be a business move, but you would have to imagine the Gopro people would have an agenda to further their own products. exciting :)

Re: Go Pro and Cineform
Think they got Cineform for the 3D bit.
However, looks good for future GoPro products. |

Re: Go Pro and Cineform
"GoPro declined to disclose the price, but said the amount was substantial, much more than $100,000."
More than $100,000? I should hope so. They're here with me in Encinitas ("GoPro's sports marketing division is now in Encinitas.") and Cineform is just down the road, so I read it this morning in the local paper: TECH: Videocam star GoPro expands in North County |
