How do you create fast motion in Vegas Pro 9?
I have an HD video background that I want to speed up to move the clouds a little faster. How is this done in Vegas Pro 9?

Place clip on timeline. drag the right hand end of the clip to the right while pressing cntrl key to slow down, to the left to speed up. Easy as pie, eh?

Jeff's method gives you up to a 400% increase.
Use a Velocity envelope for up to a 300% increase (can be a variable increase by using keyframes). The two together will give you a 1200% increase. |

and if you right click on the clip while it's on the timeline, you can see how much the payback rate has been adjusted, or you can even adjust it using numbers if you like.

Thanks Mike and Jeff! That was great info! Posting yet another question concerning slo-mo and 30p. Perhaps you'll have an answer there as well ;o)
Thanks a million! |
