Rendering for Bluray
I'm just starting in the world of bluray after buying a Bluray burner.
I have a whole load of clips shot with my Canon HF100 camcorder. The original clips are 1920x1080 50i 17Mbps H.264 mts files I have put them into Vegas 9 and just added some crossfades and the odd title. I want render them with a view to creating a menu based disc in DVD Arhictect 5. My question is what format should I render them as? I have tried the Mainconcept Bluray 1920x1080, 50i 25Mbps template and it seems to render ok in roughly 15mins for 15mins of footage. I did a quick test menu and burnt a disc in DVD Arch, and it did play ok on my Blue ray player. But is this the best one to use? As the original clips are H.264 (am I right in thinking that is AVCHD?) I would have thought I should maybe use the Sony AVC, AVCHD template, but if I try this it says it will take about 10 hours to render the same 15 min clip! Why is it rencoding the files, shouldn't it just encode the crossfades and titles and leave the rest alone? Any advice on the correct templates, workflow to use much appreciated. |
