Can't Render to Quicktime in Vegas Pro 10

I recently upgraded to Vegas Pro 10 from 8. I have successfully rendered projects in several different formats including Real Player, Windows Media, and MPEG 2. However when I try to render to Quicktime the render box flashes up for a second then disappears and nothing happens. Any idea why?

Do you have QuickTime player installed?

try rendering to a different drive, see if it renders then.

I had downloaded the latest version of Quick Time so I should be good there.

I can try rendering to another drive but the one I am rendering to is a brand new eSATA 7200 rpm drive that is almost empty and everything else renders to it just fine.

"I had downloaded the latest version of Quick Time so I should be good there."

that might be a red flag... i'm running Vegas 10a with QT 7.6.2 and think most Vegas users are running QT 7.6.8 with Vegas10: i did see one report of QT 7.6.9 working with 10c and 9e but it didn't go into details; using newest version of QT is generally not a good idea.

i'd suggest rolling back to earlier version of QT (maybe try 7.6.8 first) and test that.

btw, the drive test is a permissions trick... i've had QuickTime refuse to write to a given drive because it didn't feel i had permission to (the drive was newly formatted)... successful rendering to a different drive may mean this is the case (or that the other drive is full/incompatible in some way)

I think Rob is right on track...roll back to previous version and see what happens.

I rolled back to the 7.6.8 version of Quicktime but have the same result. When you try to render to "Quicktime 7" the render box comes up for a split second then disappears.
