Poor playback in Vegas (again)
Hi everyone
I posted about this a while back and since then I've done a deal of fiddling with Vegas and I haven't really got anywhere. My basic problem is that playback of any video in Vegas is poor. Playback tends to stutter even on very simple clips. For instance I have a 1024x768 Cineform 3D video file which will play back perfectly in QuickTime or in Premiere; but if I drop it onto the timeline in Vegas 10.0c (I'm still running the demo) it won't play smoothly. I've seen a few posts on this forum about problems with Vegas 10 and Cineform; but no one else seems to experiencing quite this kind of issue. Surely if the system can play the files no problems then Vegas is introducing some serious overhead in the way it handles media if the playback is so poor. I really don't know what else to try. My edits in Premiere with the same media are entirely painless, so unless I can make Vegas work the same performance I will go back to Premiere. /ben |
