Pro 10.0b is out - Merry Christmas from Sony

Notable fixes/changes in Version 10.0b

* Added the ability to configure encoded format, interlace mode, and quality of CineForm™ encoding.
* Added 24p Blu-ray Disc rendering templates.
* Decreased startup time when many OFX plug-ins are installed.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when opening a project using a missing OFX generator.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when using Save Media with Project with media that had stabilization applied.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when replacing media with stabilization applied.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when starting playback after reordering audio track effects multiple times.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when loading a project using media generators if the Video Media Generators window was open.
* Fixed some issues in AC-3 Pro rendering format (muted LFE channel when using the “2/0 (L, R) + LFE" template, enabled LFE option for "1/0 (C)" and "2/0 (L,R)" templates, don’t show "2/0 (L, R) + LFE" template for stereo projects).
* Fixed an issue smart rendering to MPEG-2 standard definition.
* Fixed an issue that could cause video track effects to be processed as pre-composite after dragging the plug-in to the post-composite position in the Video Track FX window.
* Fixed an issue adding 5.1 surround plug-ins to the master bus in a 5.1 surround project.
* Fixed an issue that could prevent FX Bus input meters from functioning.
* Fixed an issue that could prevent FX from being heard in the Apply Non-Real-Time Event FX dialog.
* Fixed time, tempo, and meter information passed to VST plug-ins.
* Fixed a hang that could occur when using 32-bit VST plug-ins in the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro.
* Fixed audio glitches that could occur when scrubbing in a 5.1 surround project.
* Fixed an issue with OFX presets for fractional values when saved or loaded with certain language settings active.
* Fixed an issue loading large presets for OFX plug-ins.
* Fixed an issue with OFX plug-ins that vary output even with fixed parameters.
* Fixed an issue that could cause OFX temporal frame access to be incorrect when rendering to a file.
* Fixed an issue loading and saving OFX presets that contain large amounts of data.
* Fixed an issue that could cause keyframes for OFX plug-ins to move to the start of the FX timeline.
* Fixed an issue that could cause an Undo operation in the video FX timeline to move all keyframes to the start of the FX timeline.
* Fixed incorrect results with certain OFX transition effect plug-ins when used on still images.
* Fixed OFX keyframe interpolation for certain cases.
* Fixed an issue that could cause the Stereoscopic 3D Adjust plug-in to create interlace patterns in the image.
* Fixed an issue that could prevent the Auto Correct function in Stereoscopic 3D Adjust from working properly with source images requiring flips.
* Fixed an issue that could cause removal of stabilization to could change the range of time represented by a subclip.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when a string consisting entirely of unsupported characters was entered for a closed caption.
* Fixed an issue reading HDV clips captured with certain third-party tools.
* Fixed a hang that could occur when compositing or crossfading between large still image sequences.
* Fixed alpha channel for PNG images rendered as an image sequence.
* Fixed a problem rendering projects using 32-bit floating point video as image sequences.
* Expanded scripting properties and methods for stereoscopic 3D and OFX plug-ins. Scripting changes have been posted to the Vegas

OFX features in 1/3 of the changelog entries. Maybe I'm being cynical when I wonder if that smacks of a technology that was hastily incorporated ;-)

Not quite Ian. They release it hastily .. and let the users find the bugs. Did you read some of them .. and it says 'notable' fixes.

I know a developer here, who nearly blew his brains out back at Version 8 .. I believe it was.

Hope it addrs that memory low issue. Still have it sometimes.. I have this weird issue of rendering black screens in parts of the video. Anyone has it?

I have a hunch that one of the less notable fixes was my issue with Vegas crashing too frequently whenever I switched through the File tab from one Vegas project to another. I brought this up here once or twice and no one else reflected upon it, so I just began filling a report every time that Sony popup asked for details after a crash. Well, so far no crashes and I've given it quite a workout; so thanks from me, Sony.
