Vegas 10 Having Trouble Rendering to m2ts @ 24p at DVinfo.net

I am editing avchd files from my canoon vixia in sony vegas. I import the file which was shot in 24p and edit it fine. When I go to render, I attempt to save as sony avc format and when I go to custom and setup my own template it will let me change the frame rate manually to 24p but when I go to change the format to m2ts the field changes back to 29.970 and makes it so i can't manually override this setting. What am I missing here? Why can't I render as the same type of file I brought it in as?
