Protype Titler "forgets" drop split effect? at DVinfo.net

I;m using Vegas Pro 9e on my 64bit Core i7 PC, and I'm having a buggy issue I've not experienced before; when I create a text event in the timeline using Protype Titler, it forgets the type effect after a short time (drop split from the collections menu). The type continues to shrink into the background, but the initial "fade in one letter at a time" portion vanishes. I don't know how to restore this portion of the effect, and I've had to trash the event and start over 3 times. Any one else having this issue?

is there a keyframe somewhere on the prottiler timeline that escaped your detection?
