Vegas 10 slow open issues..
Well this seems like Deja Vu,
Is it just me, opening a project takes about 90sec, just 5 clips set to regions, then building peaks takes about 5 mins, no wait, its still going...... Then I want to punch the monitor because you think, "no drama, I'll just open it in 9, but you cant!!!! arghhhhhh! Where is #$@#$% 10b?

I may be way off the mark here but I had this issue when I was accessing some material that was stored on a NAS. It just seemed to take forever, Moving the media to a local drive sorted it out.
I wonder why your audio peaks are rebuilding every time? I thought that once built they were available immediately without having to be redrawn (unless they are deleted). How long are the clips? |

Thanks Ian,
But the files are already on a local drive, and I have no idea why the peaks keep rebuilding, first time Ive seen it since 9a, or was it 9b, dunno. I ended up using Adobe media encoder just to get it done. I'll go back to Vegas in the morning, maybe after a night cap and a good nights rest she'll love me again tomorrow. I've said it before, I love Vegas, but she can be an irritable little minx.
