Partial locking of events
Is there any way to lock the position of an event on the timeline but still be able to split it and adjust it's length or in/out points?

It's either locked or not. Don't know of a way to lock some things leaving other things unlocked. You could always put a marker at the beginning of the event and then make sure it's always against that marker.

I thought not. My reason for asking is that I have just sync'd a load of rather lengthy clips (a stage production) and I wanted to make sure I don't nudge them accidentally while cutting them. Thanks Edward.

I wonder...
If you grouped them all, then selected "ignore event grouping" so you could edit, would anything you dragged out of sync turn pink? Edit: No, just tried it. However, if you group everything then DON'T select "ignore event grouping" you can still drag ins and outs but if you drag an event everything moves, which should be easier to notice...
