Hard drive speed tests.......
Hey everyone, just thought Id put this up, its a write/read speed test done on various drives on my PC.
Drive C is a Falcon 2 SSD 124gb Desk Data B (F:) is a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Raptor Raid is 2x WD Raptors in Raid 0 ( this is for my project media ) Desk Data C (G:) is a WD ECO Green 1 TB Some of the results are surprising, some aren't. I guess this is for anyone who is where I was at a few weeks ago, looking to get the best speed out of their editing. And yes, now I can multicam edit full HD with fast cutting and crossfades, and so far, not one hang or crash. |

Interesting. My SSDs did slow down as I filled them up. However, one of the main advantages of SSDs was not shown in this test: astonishingly fast seek times. That's why I use SSDs as boot disks. Boot up is so fast, and programs open fast (first open after boot: Vegas 8c opens in 5 seconds).
