.MOV files black in Vegas
Hello All,
Currently I'm having a huge problem with importing my 7D's .MOV files into Vegas. Untill yesterday it has never been a problem to do so but today's clips result in just a black screen in Vegas. It does this on both systems, my notebook and my desktop. However, I am able to play the files in windows media player and quicktime without a problem. I can also playback the on the camera. What am I missing? Somebody who can probably help me out or point me in the right direction? I need them quite urgent... Thanks. |

You must have updated you QuickTime. Go back to the previous QT and it should work.

Carlos, I really appreciate your help. Which version do I actually need? It seems that the latest version (Quicktime 7) does not support .MOV file format:
Apple - QuickTime - QuickTime Player - Tech Specs (right column) I tried version 6,4 from here: QuickTime 6.4 Installer for Windows: information and Download That version gives an error in Vegas when trying to import the files Thanks for you help. |

To finish this thread:
The problem is solved. In my opinion it's a shame quicktime doesn't support the .mov files anymore as DSLR's used for video are coming up more and more. For who might discover the same problem using Vegas and DSLR files, this is the version that worked for me: http://www.brothersoft.com/d.php?sof...nes75Setup.exe Thanks for your quick support Carlos, what a great forum is this, also in case of trouble. |

QT version compatibility update
I have just tested Quicktime v7.66 and it has the same problem with MOV files showing up black in Vegas v.9.0c.
However, v7.65.18.40 works! You can download it here: Download Freeware QuickTime Player 7.65 |

Yes, but 9.0d has caused other problems such as extremely slow loading veg files for many of us.
