Windows 7, Vegas 6 to 8.0 Upgrade Help
Hi:
I have tried multiple times to get Vegas 6 to install on Windows 7 without success. My solution was to buy Vegas 8 with hopes that the install procedure would ask for my Vegas 6 serial number. Instead it looks for Vegas 7 to be installed. Does anyone have a workaround that might overcome this problem? Would a simple copy of my Vegas 6 directory from my original XP hard drive to my current computer possibly work? Thanks...Alan |

Sounds like you need to contact Sony Customer Service.

I tried to send a question via their support, but since I listed Windows 7 and Vegas 8 -- and Vegas 8 is not officially supported with Windows 7 -- I got a "not supported" message.
I will call them on Monday. That should be fun. |

Got it figured out. Found an article on the web.
The Vegas 6 install required installing MS NET Framework 1.1, but since Version 1.0 was not installed, it kept crashing. Was able to get Version 1.0 from Sony's website, installed it and Vegas 6.0, then got 8.0 to install. Now I am a happy camper! |
