Move the files. When you open the project the next time, it will ask where those files are. Point it to the new location.

Do you think something like that would be useful for me? Maybe a plugin or something that automatically shrinks a double-click-selected region by a frame?
brah Sounds bleak, don't it? Last edited by Mathew Kurtz; June 28th, 2006 at 04:29 PM. |

In my case, shrinking by a frame did not work. I had to make sure the frame before and after the region was not there (actually, I just deleted everything before the region and everything after the region).

pan crop for non proportional video?
i have a part of a video i need to take from another video , the screen is split into two vertically (i need left side). The part i need is not perfectly square (height is longer than width)
i tried pan crop but it only goes zooms in and out in perfect squares, anyone know how i can crop out this rectangle portion within vegas,i know when i isolate that section and fit to screen in it will look kind of messed up because proportions are not right but that is ok. Just need that section thanks in advance |

Project Time
I'm just thinking out loud here, but I wonder how hard it would be to have a script in vegas that tallys up your work time on a project?

Pan/Crop WILL do it - you just need to turn off "Lock Aspect Ratio" (it's one of the buttons down the left side of the Pan/Crop dialog).
For more info on creating masks which will also let you do this, take a look at Vol 3 #1 of my newsletters.

Resetting vegas window setup to default
I recently switched from Twom small monitors to a 24" and a production monitor and would like to reset vegas to the default setup, but I can't figure out how!
I have all kinds of windows all over the place and when I drag them to the bottom they create a seperate frame instead of a tab on the lower left. It gets pretty crowded! |

Changing the volume globally
I have a project with many audio tracks, each with a volume envelope. How can I adjust the overall volume? I want everything raised by 12dB throughout the file. Normally the output faders can facilitate this, but I have maxed them out, so I think I need to adjust the envelopes.

I guess you could route them all to a bus and then raise the volume level on that bus.

Does it matter if it is a surround project? It seems routing to busses is only possible when you are not using a surround master.

Not sure if this will work for you but it's worth a shot.
View - Audio Bus Tracks Insert a volume envelope on this new "Track" You can raise the volume on each of these independently plus the volume controls on the master faders. |

You da man. That gave me another 6dB of leeway. The tricks some people have up their sleeve!
