Creating H.264 Video with Vegas 9.0
Sorry for such an elementary question, but I need some advice and instruction...
How do you create MP4/H.264 video with Sony Vegas 9.0? Just because a file is .mp4 doesn't mean it's H.264, correct? So where are the settings in Sony Vegas 9.0, in which you can render video using the H.264 codec? Thanks very much in advance for your help !!! |

mp4 roughly = h.264. There are a number of variations in the wrapper and the header file. Likewise AVC/AVCHD.
Assuming you're on Vegas Pro 9 (I don't know much about Movie Studio or Platinum versions), you'll find MP4 compression codec accessible through the following render types: Mainconcept AVC/AAC (MP4) Quicktime (go into custom settings and select MPEG-4 as the video format) Sony AVC (.mp4...) There are a variety of semi-useful templates associated with these types. What is it that you're trying to create here? I use the MC MP4 frequently for digital intermediate files headed to another encoder or vimeo, etc. Here's a thread that discusses MC vs. Sony MP4 relative to Blueray output, read down to post #16 for some comments on their respective limitations. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/what-hap...architect.html
