gaps in project
OK first off this is a colleague of mines problem, so I am delivering this secondhand....
He had just finished a project filmed in HDV PAL. His project is approx. 35mins and consists of 2x video tracks, 1x stills track 2 audio tracks (one camera, one voice-over) and a third audio track containing background music. So, yesterday he finished it, saved it - (and a back-up on a second drive) then previewed the entire film to ensure it really was ready for rendering - it was. At this point it was getting late, so he shut down his PC and thought he would render it out the next day (today). During the night he decided to make a change 3/4 the way through the project before rendering. So today he opened the project and played it until he found the event he thought he might change. However, before getting to that point he suddenly noticed that there were 3 gaps in the video each gap around 5 or 6 seconds - nothing missing, it's just like someone has slid the event along. The voiceover audio track is also out of alignment and one small seciton of the camera audio track (which was ungrouped) was also ahead of the video. He cannot understand what he could have done. He is adamant that he saved the project, viewed it in its entirety and without making any changes closed Vegas and shut down the computer - so what went wrong? This is Vegas PRO 9B |
