3D text and pass through

Is it possible with just vegas to create a 3d text, that the subject could walk through? so the text would go from foreground to background.

yes, easier in AFX or 3ds Max though.
set your composite mode to 3d source alpha,
once you have what you want, duplicate the track as many times as you can, 30 is a start.
go through and change each tracks Z depth by 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 etc
Parent them all to the first track,
set track motion on the parent track to 3d source alpha
key it to move how you want- towards and through you.
I would nest the multiple tracks into one track, so you end up with only 2 tracks to work with- the face and the depth, this way you can apply fx to the face differently to the depth.

I actually did a tutorial on this, well part 1 anyway, didnt get many views so I havent done the 2nd bit yet.

Hi Guys

If the Vegas method gets too complicated then the ProDad Heroglyph plugin has very neat 3D walkthru capabilities too!!! If you are into titling then it's definately worth a 'look-see'
